Debra is a stage, screen, voice-over actor, improvisor and MC / Panel Moderator represented by Argent Talent Management. TV appearances include ABCs ALASKA DAILY and A MILLION LITTLE THINGS, the History Channel's PROJECT BLUE BOOK, NBC Universal's The InBetween, Freeform's BEYOND, Warner Brothers TV / DC Entertainment's iZOMBIE, and the Disney Channel's movie GIRL VS MONSTER. She can also be seen in the feature film FSM (iTunes). In addition to acting in TV/Film/Commercials, Debra is active in the independent film scene. She produced and acted in three ReelFast 48hr Film Festival short films. The third film, SUPER-ANON, won two ReelFast awards, including Best Film, and went on to screen at more than 75 film festivals garnering 15 additional awards and a few more nominations including Debra’s Nell Shipman Award nomination for “Production Excellence as Lead Actress”. Another short film she associate produced and acted in, SCATTERED, was selected for Telefilm Canada's "Not Short on Talent" showcase at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, screened at a number of film festivals and, garnered various awards including for acting. Debra has also enjoyed forays in the web series format.
Under her signature "Deb Sears GO2 4VO" moniker, Debra has voiced promotional videos for corporate and non-profit clients such as: Tourism Vancouver Island, Equifax Canada, Groupo La Nortenita, Westcoast Family Centers, Professional Employees Union, Motion Specialties, Alpha Canada, Bridal Fair, BC Podiatrists, Family Services Tulare County and BC Renal. She has also served as "the voice of god" at the annual Leo Awards celebrating BC's film and tv industry.
A Theatre Acting major, Debra graduated with a BA from the University of Saskatchewan. She continues to study acting and improvisation as well as perform. For the Vancouver International Fringe Festival she co-produced and performed in DYCK SPACEE: A Spy-Fi Improvised Radio Play and performed in the sketch based comedy THOSE WHO CAN'T. She regularly performs improv with Very Very Improv Theatre.
Debra received Women In Film & Television Vancouver’s Volunteer of the Year Award in 2008 – largely for her efforts on the organization’s film festival committee – and was later honored with the Sharon Gibbon Lifetime Member Award for her service MCing / interviewing the guest speakers at WIFTV’s monthly Networking Coffee Chats. In September 2011, Debra was recognized with a Keith Provost Award from Vancouver’s Cold Reading Series for her contributions to the independent film community.
